Italian Neo Realism - Understanding & Film Analysis and conclusion



This is our 5 minutes film analysis regarding our understanding on Italian Neo Realism. Once again, Bicycle Thieves 1948 is the example in  this film analysis.
As a conclusion, Italian neo realism is an important history as it has a big impact in the film industry because aside from the group of theoretical motivated directors and scriptwriters, it is more as a trend in Italian film and the impact nevertheless has been enormous. Italian Neo- realism was a sign of social progress and cultural changes in Italy as it is known as a poverty and pessimism cinema, which was suggested by the theoretical founder of neo-realism in 1942 by Cesare Zavattini that abolishes contrived and planned plots, use real and amateur people as the actors and film are shot in location, mostly in run-down cities and rural areas due to the film is happen in post war era while directly contact and established with contemporary social reality after the Post-World War II. Only by using social actors and the locations, the characteristic of non-revolutionary transition towards prosperity and affluence can presented in a good way to show the realism of the people during post war era, including grainy film stock technique to enhance the narrative.
